5-Spice Pork in Satay Sauce
Seems best with either rice or in a sandwich with lettuce.
Ingredients
1 kg pork shoulder | cut into cubes or strips
30 g light brown sugar
1.5 tbsp 5-spice
3 tbsp dark soy sauce
0.5 tbsp white pepper |||
2 cloves garlic | minced
0.5 tsp medium curry powder
2 tbsp peanut butter
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster/mushroom sauce
1 tsp miso paste
1 tsp sugar
1 cube vegetable stock
0.5 tsp sesame oil
0.5 tsp chili flakes
1 tsp cornflour | mixed with 2 tsp water as slurry |||
2 peppers
2 onion
2 courgette (did not have)
Directions
The pork: pan-fry the pork in soy, brown sugar, 5-spice and white pepper. Once done, set aside.
The satay sauce: Gently fry garlic
Stir in curry powder
Add peanut butter, soy sauce, oyster/mushroom sauce, miso paste, sugar, veg stock cube, sesame oil.
Simmer 2~3 min.
Add chili flakes and the slurry
The assembly: Stir-fry onion, peppers, courgette.
Add the pork, toss until heated.
Pour in satay sauce, stir until coated.
